About The Durham High School Race Series

The Durham High School Series is a grassroots race series designed to get new students into the fun, safe and healthy sport of Mountain Biking! This series has been around for 10 years, and has been brought to you by Superfly Racing for the past 6 seasons.

The series this year rocks again with 4 races to challenge high school and elementary school age mountain bike racers. (NOTE: Please note that all racers MUST be accompanied by their teacher or assigned school representative in order to race; per school board insurance requirements.)

Wednesday Night Race Series – Albion Hills –

Superfly Racing has passed the torch to Corey Brioschi and the North Hub bike shop in it’s 20th year!

Though Superfly is not making it to the 20 year mark, we will still be an active part of the series, sponsoring some BBQ nights and getting in a ride or two!  Please support Corey and The North Hub Bike shop in Bolton as they take over the series!

For detailed information on the series please click HERE

WEDNESDAY NIGHTS are BACK!!!

Superfly Racing will be passing on the torch after 19 great years – but will still swing by for the occassional ride and sponsor the odd BBQ!  While we’d have loved to make it 20 years, life has gotten too busy and we need to concentrate on our larger events, and family commitments (two daughters in diapers, eek)!

Corey Brioschi will be taking over the series, after doing most of the work anyways over the last few years!

  • We have a different course EACH week, accessing 3 starting points within Albion.  Courses are about 5km, and you do 3 laps or as many as you can before a 45 minute cut-off.
  • Albion’s trails are the perfect level for all riders, and our unique use of the trails makes it feel different every week!
  • A new, dedicated timer and a mix of Corey and Sean are running the show – and Alana should be around more this year if anyone wants to watch our baby!
  • Riders don’t have to spend their time in bottlenecks – with 80 riders on average, it’s not congested like some other weekly races.

Want to sponsor a BBQ night?  Want more information?  Click HERE to contact Corey

**IMPORTANT INFO RE: 9:00AM YOUTH RACE

Due to difficulty creating a fun, not too hilly 9am youth race at the bottom, we are again running this start at 3:00pm on SATURDAY!  Pre-riding for the main races will shut down from 2:45 to 4pm to accommodate this youth race, at the top of the hill.  The carpet will be open, we encourage everyone to come up and encourage the kids on the 2.5km upper course!

**Keep in mind: many age categories can race at 9 OR 10am – so depending on the TIME you registered, you may be racing Saturday or Sunday – some kids are even going to race both!

The Course and Pre-Riding

The course will be pre-marked roughly for mid-June, and available to ride every day, weather permitting, up to race day. Please use the drop box during the week!  As with every year, expect a fun, dynamic course, just the right amount of climbing, technical, and of course, tremendous views of gorgeous Eagle Lake and the Haliburton Highlands!

The Course

Some changes will occur the week leading up to the event, so for the most accurate course try and ride Thursday to Saturday of race weekend. As usual, there is a fee of approx. $10 on-site. The course will be preliminarily marked the weekend prior to the event.

The Horseshoe Canada Cup course has an old school feel! The singletrack is fast and fun and this course has plenty of options for skilled riders, it is also a very different type of course than you will see at Hardwood Hills the following weekend!  We have worked on making this year’s course faster, and flowier, with a few less climbs – don’t want to kill you before National Championships one week later!  We will also be striving for a 1:30 winning time for the Elite Men, and keep the times on the short side for most disciplines.
