Wednesday Night Race Series – Albion Hills –

Superfly Racing has passed the torch to Corey Brioschi and the North Hub bike shop in it’s 22nd year!

Though Superfly is not making it to the 20 year mark, we will still be an active part of the series, sponsoring some BBQ nights and getting in a ride or two!  Please support Corey and The North Hub Bike shop in Bolton as they take over the series!

For detailed information on the series please click HERE

WEDNESDAY NIGHTS are BACK!!!

Superfly Racing will be passing on the torch after 19 great years – but will still swing by for the occassional ride and sponsor the odd BBQ!  While we’d have loved to make it 20 years, life has gotten too busy and we need to concentrate on our larger events, and family commitments (two daughters in diapers, eek)!

Corey Brioschi will be taking over the series, after doing most of the work anyways over the last few years!

  • We have a different course EACH week, accessing 3 starting points within Albion.  Courses are about 5km, and you do 3 laps or as many as you can before a 45 minute cut-off.
  • Albion’s trails are the perfect level for all riders, and our unique use of the trails makes it feel different every week!
  • A new, dedicated timer and a mix of Corey and Sean are running the show – and Alana should be around more this year if anyone wants to watch our baby!
  • Riders don’t have to spend their time in bottlenecks – with 80 riders on average, it’s not congested like some other weekly races.

Want to sponsor a BBQ night?  Want more information?  Click HERE to contact Corey

Ontario Cup 5, Saturday/Sunday September 4/5, 2021. Mountainview

The final Ontario Cup of the year is not Provincial Championships, as this year will be a best of 4.  This event is being run by Angry Johnny’s Racing in concert with Thomas Wood productions, for information go to: https://angryjohnny.ca/events/o-cup/

Ontario Cup Overview

Superfly Racing is waiting for confirmation on the return of the series for 2021!

While we will likely see an individual pursuit (likely riders staged, racing 15 seconds apart) for most of 2021, this is a vast improvement on having no races at all!  We will keep you in the loop and let you know how we will execute the series, under the parameters set by the municipal and provincial governments.

The Ontario Cup (O-Cup) is one of Canada’s premier XC Mountain Bike racing series. For riders who enjoy challenging courses and competing against riders from across the province, this race series is for you. The 6 – 7 event series attracts both full-season racers, as well as riders who simply want to enjoy the challenge of individual races.

The O-Cup season kicks off in early May and concludes with the Provincial Championships at or around the end of summer.  Events are typically 2 to 6 weeks apart and again include Canada Cups at both Horseshoe and Hardwood Ski and Bike..  Only the best venues in the province are chosen to host O-Cups with each venue adding its own twist for riders. It might be a highly technical hilly course, a high speed flat course or a combination of the two. Whichever type of course it is, it will be fun and challenging to all abilities.

O-Cup riders are categorized based, first by age, then by ability. Riders earn upgrade points to upgrade to the next higher ability category. Ontario Cup points are awarded to all categories.

Who can Participate?

Anyone with a sense of adventure!  Riders who are at least 9 years of age (“Squirt” division) can participate in the O-Cup XC Series, and with the new, less hilly and technical 9:00am courses, it’s a perfect series to introduce youth to the exhilaration and comaraderie of racing!

Ontario Cup 3, July 3/4, 2021 – Horseshoe Resort

Horseshoe has a massive facility, and we are blessed with many options at this venue.  Multiple start area options, a tunnel under the road, and a great mix of trails make this the perfect summer venue.  Add on-site accommodations, a lake for swimming,  close proximity to the GTA – AND Hardwood for the next weeks Ontario Cup/National Championships*, and this is a no-brainer for the third stop on the series.

*Assuming Nationals proceed on this date, look at pulseracing.ca for developments.

The Course

As we will need a longer course, we are planning to ride straight up and down the steep ski hills up to 5 times per lap.  Just kidding, we already made the Elites do that back in 2018.  I got very few Christmas cards that year.  The good news is, we can access both sides of the road – so we can use the fun ups and down, rock-overs and sideslopes on the resort side, and some of the open hammer-down section on the Nordic side.

Pre-Riding

We will strive to have the course pre-marked up to 2 weeks prior to the event – or at the very least will have the GPX files available.  Just pay your trail ticket at guest services and there should be ample time to pre-ride.

Registration, Schedule

Information will be updated as it becomes available

Albion Hills is close to the GTA and has the space to host a safe, Covid-friendly Ontario Cup event.   It also boasts super fast, flowy, fun trails – just what the doctor ordered for an individual pursuit format.

Albion also offer incredible, spacious camping sites – making it the perfect location to host an event in these tumultuous times.
