About The Durham High School Race Series

The Durham High School Series is a grassroots race series designed to get new students into the fun, safe and healthy sport of Mountain Biking! This series has been around off and on for almost 15 years!

The series this year features 3 events to challenge high school racers – sorry, no elementary school races for 2022.  The race series has proven to be a great introduction to the sport as well as excellent development for riders and school teams participating in the OFSAA sanctioned Ontario Challenge MTB Race – details to come on a possible OFSAA event for 2022.

(NOTE: Please note that all racers MUST be accompanied by their teacher or assigned school representative in order to race; per school board insurance requirements.)

Coaches with questions can email sean@superflyracing.com

Cheques can be made payable to:

Superfly Racing, 1033 Crawford Road, Bracebridge, ON P1L 1W8

a) Mansfield Spring Epic 8 Hour Relay, May 28, 2022

The Mansfield Spring Epic 8 is BACK!!!

c/o Apex race photography

Block May 28 off your calendar!  An event re-boot 3 years in the making!

The two-year hiatus of this Spring CLASSIC has only created more excitement as the “O-G” epic 8 enters it’s 21st year!  Mansfield is again the backdrop for this perrenial kick-off to Ontario’s summer relay events, with North America’s largest 24 Hour and two more Epic 8 events hot on it’s heels.

Mansfield is the perfect host, with a great location, sandy soils and awesome on-site cabin rentals and camping options!  While we say goodbye to Mansfield’s longtime owner, we are excited to work with the new staff and take advantage of team Van-Go’s new trail additions!

With a yearly sell-out crowd of over 800 passionate riders, a team atmosphere and a truly fun vibe, the Epic 8 is both a great place to get your 24 hour team together for a training day, and a the perfect place for new riders looking for friendly competition in a relaxed atmosphere!

The COURSE

We are truly thankful to Johnny Y. and his crew for the amazing work they have put into Mansfield’s trail system!  While Superfly will be there to help with the spring cleanup, we won’t have to put in the work we used to to re-open every year.  The trails will be dialed and flowier than ever – and don’t worry, we won’t make you ascend Mt. Mansfield more than once per lap!  At 10km, the target time for fast riders is around 30 minutes, with the course being one of the fastest and flowiest in Ontario!  We look forward to Chewbacca’s trail, a 1.5km descent just before the solo area, and the final descent down “Exit Wound” – an ode to the old day’s of Mike Badyk and his “24 Hours of the Rich and Famous” from yesteryear!

Cabin accommodations

Mansfield boasts 17 on-site cabins, each with up to 4 beds and ample space for your team or family.  These go FAST – book yours ASAP by emailing sean@superflyracing.com Cabins are $100/cabin to be paid in cash on-site.

Cabins include access to group washrooms/showers and come with mattresses but no bedding.

Camping

Mansfield boasts unlimited on-site camping.  Whether you have a fancy trailer or just a tent, camping is $10/person per night also cash on-site.  No need to book or pre-order a site!  Just show up and follow the signs to the group camping area!  Pay at registration or wait until one of our staff come knocking!

What’s new for 2022?!

While Superfly is taking over for Chico – you will see all the same staff bringing you the great, consistent experience of the Epic 8!  New for 2022 will have beer sampling and hopefully a garden c/o our good friends at Rally beer, and a revamped mid-course aid station!

Team information

With up to 80 solo spots, tag team, 3-4 person and 5 person teams, there is something for everyone at the Spring Epic 8!  Team selection happens on the registration page, but if for any reason you need information or are changing your team’s structure, please email: allan@superflyracing.com

Please do not email for simple name changes as these can be done at the event.
