d) Sir Sam’s Weekend MTB Enduro/Marathon! date TBA

We just couldn’t go a year without a cool event weekend at Sir Sam’s!

We will have a longer race saturday, featuring a unique 12 or more km course, with an Enduro Race Sunday – Part of the Enduro Series partnered with Alex Schmidt and his races – just ironing out details but it will be a fun weekend focused on camping, great riding and beer drinking.

g) The GREAT Albion Fall MTB Championships (formerly Albion Enduro) Sat. Sept 16

Back in the 90’s, Chico, Superfly and Bikenxs started the Trek Enduro series.  Long, 40km loops ridden once, or twice.  Since then, the word “Enduro” has taken on a new meaning,  as shorter timed sections has become more familiar with this vernacular.  So, for 2023, we’ve dropped ENDURO, but we’re keeping GREAT, however this will be the GREAT Albion Fall MTB Championships!  Why championships?  Why not?  Superfly is also running the spring MTB Championships at Woodnewton, so it kinda makes sense!  Who doesn’t want to go home and say “Hey, honey, I’m the Fall MTB champion”?  Nobody.
Mark September 16th off on  your calendar, and do either the 40 km Hammer, or 80 km 2-lap SUPER Hammer!  There is also a shorter 25 km option, this is a fantastic ride through Albion like you’ve never seen before!
We will also be featuring Caledon Hills beer as a sponsor and will have a fun little afterparty with complimentary BBQ!!  Camp out for the weekend!
REGISTER (will open by spring 2023!)
Registration CLOSES Wednesday, Sept. 13 at midnight.
Is there day of Registration?  Yes!
Cash ONLY, on site Registration will be available.  $70 for the 25km, $90 for the 40km, and $100 for the 80km.
We are excited to team up with local Caledon Hills Brewing Co.  Each participant over 19 years of age will get a free beer at the finish, with additional beer available for just $5 per can!  Stick around and have some fun!

The Course and Pre-riding
Think Backwards!  While some trails ride really well in reverse, others do not, so we’ll have an awesome mix, lots of taped off 2-way sections, and will do a nice 5km of mixed trail in Palgrave, – The short road between both destinations makes this a true off-road Hammer-fest, with just enough flats for a break and a chance to look at the beautiful scenery! While we will be posting a rough course map – we are keeping the trail flow a secret – because, hey, there aren’t enough secrets anymore, and, we don’t want to encourage riding the opposite direction on the one-way trails at Albion. Palgraves trails have been carefully selected, with a liaise with local land users, to ensure minimal crossings and interactions with other users.

Afterparty, Petting Zoo and Ferris Wheels
Just wanted to get your attention – no carnival, but there is an afterparty with beer, food and good vibes.  We encourage everyone to camp out at Albion, and stick around for post race BBQ, a free Beer to those 19+ and more available for sale! The chalet will stay open as long as people are kicking around!

PRE-RIDING
No. There isn’t. It’s just that simple. Don’t try too hard to predict the course – just ride Albion

Woody Weekly Race Series, Wednesday June 8 to Sept. 7, 2022

Yes!  Weekly Racing is BACK in Durham!!  Superfly Racing is sponsoring the Team Purchase Woody Weekly Race Series – the first race series in Durham since pre-covid times!

Since the end of the Durham series, this will fill a huge void in the weekly racing calendar – and, being held on a private trail system, we will have none of the issues encountered at Durham Forest!

A 6:30pm Youth start, and 7:00 Adult start will boast a different course every two weeks, a fun, family-oriented atmosphere, computer timing and a different sponsor every week!  Typical race times will be 45 mins to 1 hour, and riders can stick around for a bonfire, or head next door for something to eat at the famous Slabtown Cidery!

NEW AS OF JUNE 20, 2022:

You no longer need an OCA permit, nor do you have to buy a one-day permit through the OCA to race the event!  Cory has gotten insurance elsewhere – now you can race for $20 cash on site or $15 for youth, just sign the on-site waiver and you are good to race!  Now so much easier to try the FUN of weekly racing!  No more online registration needed – just show up, pay the money and race like in the good ol’ days!

You may download and PRINT the waiver below, or they will be available on site!
